Dynamic American roots music and dance
Based in Oakland, California, multi-talented singer, songwriter, clawhammer banjo player and step-dancer Evie Ladin grew up surrounded by traditional Appalachian music and dance, but also brings an urban edge and contemporary vision with her original songwriting and her work in percussive dance. A sensational live performer, Evie was formerly the driving force behind San Francisco stringband The Stairwell Sisters and since 2010 has released three albums under her own name.
Keith Terry takes care of percussive duties on double bass, cajon and more, and joins Evie in dance elements of the duo’s shows. Founder of the International Body Music festival and a skilled proponent of the art, Keith has performed at prestigious venues across the world. He and Evie met on the dance floor, and they live a double life between the folk/Americana circuit and the body music scene they helped create – both elements are beautifully integrated into their live show.
“Evie Ladin is a natural entertainer with a gift for infusing folk practices with contemporary verve.” San Francisco Chronicle

Special Consensus are a Grammy nominated Bluegrass band, formed in the Chicago area in 1975 and led for forty years by Greg Cahill. They recently won the IBMA Recorded Performance of the Year Award for “Fireball” from their new album “Long I Ride”
Their acoustic bluegrass repertoire features traditional bluegrass standards, original compositions by band members , and songs from other musical genres performed in the bluegrass style. The band has released eighteen albums and has appeared on numerous radio and television shows, including The Nashville Network and the Grand Ole Opry. International tours have brought the band to Australia, Canada, Europe, South America, Ireland and the United Kingdom.
With spotless vocals and playing as shiny as a newly minted penny, music like this is the reason people come to love bluegrass. Special Consensus approaches this form with boundless energy and an aesthetic reverence that tickles the ribs, tugs at the heart, and puts a restless two-step in boots and bare feet…
Greg Cahill banjo / vocals, Rick Faris guitar / vocals
Dan Eubanks bass / vocals, Nick Dumas mandolin / vocals
