SPECIAL CONSENSUS @ Taliesin Arts Centre – Friday 27th January

The Special Consensus

Taliesin Arts Centre – Friday 27th January 7:30 p.m.

Special Consensus are a Grammy nominated Bluegrass band, formed in the Chicago area in 1975 and led for forty years by Greg Cahill. They recently won the IBMA Recorded Performance of the Year Award for “Fireball” from their new album “Long I Ride”

Their acoustic bluegrass repertoire features traditional bluegrass standards, original compositions by band members ,  and songs from other musical genres performed in the bluegrass style. The band has released eighteen albums and has appeared on numerous radio and television shows, including The Nashville Network and the Grand Ole Opry. International tours have brought the band to Australia, Canada, Europe, South America, Ireland and the United Kingdom.

With spotless vocals and playing as shiny as a newly minted penny, music like this is the reason people come to love bluegrass. Special Consensus approaches this form with boundless energy and an aesthetic reverence that tickles the ribs, tugs at the heart, and puts a restless two-step in boots and bare feet…

Featuring :-

Greg Cahill banjo / vocals, Rick Faris guitar / vocals

Dan Eubanks bass / vocals, Nick Dumas mandolin / vocals

Chattery 06.09.2016
Our next session at the Chattery will be on this Thursday 9th June,
This is a revised date as the original session was scheduled for 23rd of this month.
Due to Alex’s fortunate invitation to perform at Glastonbury, The Chattery is not available on that evening.
So, owing to an increasing support for our acoustic session, we’ve moved things forward.
We may also have another Chattery date in July, TBC.
